TenScore / Alternatives / vs Pingdom
Pingdom (now part of SolarWinds) has been a go-to uptime monitoring tool since 2007. It does one thing well: synthetic checks from multiple locations. Transaction monitoring, page speed analysis, and simple status pages.
TenScore is a different tool for a different question. Instead of asking "is the server up?" it asks "is the product healthy?" It tracks 10 canonical SaaS metrics — activation, retention, engagement, revenue, referral, support load, NPS, churn risk, expansion, and feature adoption — and computes a health score across 7 weighted dimensions. Uptime monitoring is included, but it's one layer of a fuller picture.

Pingdom's pricing starts at approximately $15/month for their Synthetic Monitoring plan (10 checks, 1-minute intervals). Real User Monitoring is a separate add-on. Transaction checks cost extra. Costs scale with the number of checks and features.
TenScore Pro starts at $19/month and includes 5 uptime monitors, 100K SaaS events/month, health scoring across 7 dimensions, 90-day data retention, and email alerts. For $4/month more than Pingdom's base plan, you get an entirely different category of product intelligence.
Pingdom starts at approximately $15/month for 10 uptime checks with 1-minute intervals. TenScore Pro is $19/month but includes 5 uptime monitors, 100K events/month for SaaS health analytics, 90-day data retention, automations, and a composite health score across 7 dimensions. For $4 more per month, you get an entirely different category of insight.
Pingdom offers Real User Monitoring (RUM) that tracks page load performance from actual visitors. TenScore does not do RUM — instead, it tracks 10 canonical SaaS metrics (activation, retention, revenue, etc.) via API events. If you need page load performance data, Pingdom or a web performance tool is better. If you need to know whether your SaaS business is healthy, TenScore answers that question directly.
Pingdom was acquired by SolarWinds in 2014 and has seen limited innovation since. Its core product — synthetic uptime monitoring — is solid but unchanged. TenScore is purpose-built for modern SaaS teams who need more than uptime: health scoring, activation tracking, retention analytics, and revenue correlation in one dashboard. If Pingdom already covers your needs, keep it. If you want SaaS-specific analytics plus uptime, TenScore is the more complete tool.
